How Sit & Heat prepared NEC's business stand for Champions League football. Sustainable, social and proudly made in Nijmegen.
NEC's Business Tribune received a complete refurbishment with bespoke seat covers.
The business tribune of the Goffert Stadium in Nijmegen has been completely revamped. Not with new seats, but with 1,100 custom seat covers in NEC's club colours: red, green and black. Each cover features the embroidered NEC logo, a tribute to the club's 125th anniversary.
The project was carried out by Sit & Heat, specialists in seating comfort for stadiums and sports venues, in collaboration with WerkBedrijf Nijmegen.
The challenge: a worn-out business stand ready for the summit
NEC faced a practical dilemma. The seats in the business tribune were worn, discoloured, and damaged in places. This was not the image befitting a professional reception of business associates and members. At the same time, the Goffert Stadium is scheduled for a large-scale renovation in a few years, during which the business tribune will be completely renewed. So, we worked together to find a smart, temporary solution.
The solution: custom stadium seat covers
Together with NEC, we opted for the smartest and most sustainable solution: reupholstering the existing seats with bespoke covers. The advantages:
- No waste of materials or budget
- Direct improvement of appearance and experience
- Fully aligned with NEC's corporate identity
- Ready for use in national and international competitions
The 1,100 seat covers have been custom-made in the NEC club colours, including an embroidered logo. The result: a business stand that looks presentable for business relations, sponsors and VIP guests.

What makes this project particularly special is its social dimension. All 1,100 seat covers were handmade in Sit & Heat's own workshop in Nijmegen, in collaboration with WerkBedrijf Nijmegen. People who have a distance to the labour market work in our workshop. They were given the opportunity to contribute to a visible, tangible end result. Visible to thousands of visitors in the Goffert Stadium.

NEC VIP Dug-out: heated seats three metres from the pitch
In addition to the business stand, Sit & Heat also supplied heated seats for the NEC VIP Dug-out. The VIP Dug-out offers ten guests a unique view of the game, and this just three metres from the pitch. This makes NEC the first club in the Eredivisie with this facility.
Heated dug-outs combine experience with comfort. Ideal for relationship management and VIP hospitality at top matches.
Champions League football in the Goffert Stadium on Sit & Heat seats
NEC has finished this Eredivisie season in third place. That means: Champions League football in Nijmegen. Clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Feyenoord, PSV or Galatasaray, all clubs that have previously visited business stands with Sit & Heat chairs, can join us in the Goffert Stadium next season.
