THE cosiest living room in the Netherlands
Fun bit of history... While on holiday in New York, where he came across coffee shops on every street corner, Patrick van Erven got the idea to start his own coffee café. Five years later, his idea became a reality. Together with his father, he opened the doors of the Douwe Egberts Café in Leeuwarden on the corner of Doelesteeg and Ruiterskwartier in the summer of 2011. Since then, coffee has been the order of the day. You come to Douwe Egberts Cafés because you want to enjoy the best coffee, in whatever form, in the cosiest living room in the Netherlands! And that people feel at home is evident from the fact that Patrick sees everyone passing by; From walking sticks to prams and from textbooks to laptops: "It all comes here!"Safe and warm
If Corona causes a closure of the hospitality industry in the Netherlands, Patrick chose instead to invest in a heated terrace. Sit & Heat was the solution they were looking for. This way, they could still receive guests in a safe and warm way. The cushions turned out to be such a success that it did not just stay in Leeuwarden. Groningen, Zwolle and Enschede have since followed. The heated seat cushions with DE logo are on more than 200 chairs at these locations and the next plans are already ready. A partnership that gets us hot!
