Choose your desired model, upholstery, colour and size and admire your cushion from all sides. Handy: from the shopping basket you can kisses order directly, but you can also request a quote first.
At the design tool you can choose from different outer fabrics, such as the fine fabric Agora Lisos or the coarser woven Agora Panama. With more than 100 colours to choose from, there is always a colour that matches your house style. With a logo on the front or back, you can give the cushion the finishing touch. For sofa cushions, you always choose the length, width and thickness of the cushion, and even the placement of the power cord. Sit & Heat also makes the perfect heating cushion for chairs or sofas with curves: our designer will make a custom-made mould for this.
Retrieved from the Sit & Heat website you can easily calculate how much energy costs and CO2 you can save by switching to heaters. Enter the current number of heaters and the number of seats on the terrace, and you will immediately see the difference in annual costs and consumption. With this, a boyhood dream is coming true!"
Seat heating is proving to be a shot in the dark, as supporters can also get cold during the match. That is why we started a partnership with Brabant-based chair manufacturer VDL Seating Systems. They incorporate our heating technology in folding seats at stadiums across Europe. For example, the business members of Feyenoord, Heerenveen, PEC Zwolle, Heracles, FC Volendam and NEC are already sitting in them warmly. "PSV is also on the way: one thousand seats of the business grandstand we will heat," Jeroen says. "It remains special for a Nijmegen entrepreneur to come across your product while watching a Champions League match. The first two offers from English clubs are also in!"Â
Sit & Heat's built-in seat heating is also energy-efficient. "The consumption is a maximum of 40 Watts per chair. With a heater, it is as much as 25,000 watts. So at a time when we want to get rid of gas and are increasingly concerned with sustainability, this is an alternative," says Jeroen. No CO2 emissions, no heat lost to the outside air, no sky-high energy bills for stadiums and no frozen bottoms for players and fans. RH New York now takes luxury to the next level with the Rooftop Restaurant, where guests can dine in warmth and comfort amidst the breathtaking skyline views, thanks to the seamless collaboration with Sit & Heat for this project.
In the heart of downtown Manhattan, RH New York's design centre stands as a testament to their dedication to blurring the lines between residential and retail spaces. Here you can discover over 8,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor elegance, making it a trendsetter in both the residential and hospitality industries.
To heat up the rooftop dining experience at RH New York, a partnership was formed between Restoration Hardware Manufacturing and Sit & Heat. Our innovative systems were carefully matched to RH's luxurious seating, so that every guest could enjoy the breathtaking skyline views comfortably and warmly. A team from Sit & Heat flew to New York, where they expertly implemented these custom-made heating systems. They offered guests an unparalleled, warm experience in the sometimes chilly New York air.
Decorating your own home is great fun, but if you are buying a second or third home, you might be less inclined to do it yourself. For the wealthiest Americans, Restoration Hardware offers a solution. "Tables, chairs, cabinets, beds, cushions, they have everything," says Jorg Rijkschroeff, founder of Sit & Heat. "Usually customers come for the complete furnishing of their impressive homes. They shop for several hundred thousand dollars worth of home furnishings and leave everything to Restoration Hardware."
He continues: "In major US cities, Restoration Hardware has flagship stores, their flagship stores. In New York, this shop is in the Meatpacking District, an expensive neighbourhood in Manhattan. They converted an old factory building, which looks really cool, and added a rooftop bar." Sit & Heat was asked to custom-made heated cushions supply. "We heated about 100 chairs, but of course they had to be in cushions of their own brand."
Jorg further shared his take on the project's journey: "Restoration Hardware sent us a cushion. We received the biggest box you can send. I think the box was was more than three metres? Really huge. It contained one very large cushion, a four-seater for a large sofa. We used that to make a prototype heated cushion and sent that back."
During the process, Jorg and the team had to overcome challenges. "I had a conversation with the flagship store in New York, Restoration Hardware headquarters in California and the manufacturer in North Carolina. The manufacturer said, 'We don't do this! We can't install electronics; it's too complicated.' So I went through a whole manual with him," Jorg says. "But then the manufacturer still said, 'We're not certified for this; it's too complicated.' So I suggested: 'What if we do it? What if we assemble it? ' The reassuring answer was: yes, then the cushions can come to New York. Not much later, Jorg and the team were on their way to America.
"We first went to New York to discuss the project. We were also given a tour of the shop," Jorg explains. It became clear that Restoration Hardware is meant for the super-rich. "We had to report to the Golden Desk - they have a real gold desk at the entrance," he says. The next stop was a big contrast: the Restoration Hardware factory in Hickory, North Carolina. "The southern US is almost a different country compared to New York. We spent a week immersed in factory life in a southern state. You can't get a much more pure experience. The people there were super friendly and nice."
On site, Jorg and the team installed all the electronics in the cushions. They worked with mechanics and seamstresses. "It was an experience not soon to forget. It was very inspiring to see how Restoration Hardware operates on such a large scale, how they organise the factory, which machines they use and how they maintain quality. We learnt a lot from that!"
RH New York seamlessly combines indoor and outdoor spaces on several floors to create a unique shopping and dining experience. The rooftop terrace restaurant is a particular highlight. It flows seamlessly into a beautifully landscaped park and wine terrace and offers iconic views of downtown Manhattan. Reflecting on this part of the journey, Jorg proudly remarked, "So we equipped their Giant Cushions with our top-of-the-line heating systems, and the final product was something to be proud of."
Jorg concluded with a sense of pride: "The roof is a super cool place with a great view. Wow, our products are up there. It's great to travel the world with Sit & Heat, but even more so to collaborate with such a big name. Restoration Hardware is one of the biggest names in America and this collaboration shows that we can deliver at the highest level."
Sit & Heat's heat pads are popping up in more and more places. Now also on the brand new Wagtail roof terrace in the heart of London! For this, we were allowed to collaborate with big names from the design world. We even travelled to the British outback to deliver the project pico bello.
In May 2022, Wagtail opened its doors: a high-end restaurant and cocktail bar in London's Financial District. The rooftop terrace offers 360° views over the city, with a spectacular view of London Bridge. The interior was designed by architect and designer Russell Sage. A big name in the design world, he designs five-star hotels, exclusive restaurants and luxury bars, for example. Fortunately, he thinks it is important for guests to be warm. He enlisted our help for durable patio heating!
"What designers want is for an interior to be made exactly as they draw it in," explains Sit & Heat founder Jorg Rijkschroeff. "That's how they come to us: we deliver tailor-made work, that's our expertise. Russell Sage approached us through our agent Anthony Gerard, the face of Sit & Heat in the UK." Anthony already has many warm contacts in the UK, as he also works as an agent for hospitality parasols from Symo Parasols.
"We launched Sit & Heat in the UK in spring 2021," Anthony explains. "Pretty soon after, Russell Sage expressed interest in the heat pads for the restaurant we now know as Wagtail - but at the time was still called '68 King William Street'." There followed many complicated specifications, unusual requirements and the request to work with different furniture makers: a nice challenge.
"Russell Sage had already selected three UK parties, which allowed us to deliver the furniture and heating as one," Jorg explains. "The Contract Chair supplied chairs and bar stools. They sent samples to us in Nijmegen so we could customise heating. 3 Interiors carpented terrace benches, for which we made cushions. Finally, we worked with Coco Wolf: a fairly exclusive furniture brand that supplies fully upholstered sofas and chairs."
Just before the completion date, Coco Wolf found itself running out of time. Jorg continues: "Then we flew to England a day early, to help assemble all the parts! On site, we connected the seat heater electronics. That was in an old nineteenth-century factory, the kind you really only know from TV. It was very cool that we ended up there just like that!" The UK is no unknown territory for Sit & Heat. For example, the Nijmegen-based heat cushions are also at the chic champagne bar in Harrods and at the Berkeley Hotel's rooftop bar. "The big architects of Europe are in London. They also sign for Milan, for Amsterdam, you name it," says commercial director Jeroen Diks. That's how the ball got rolling. "Besides Russell Sage, we were already working with architects like Brady Williams." As far as Sit & Heat is concerned, many more designers and special locations are going to follow!
